Showing God's Love on Campus

Recently our student have been slightly upset about a group of ministers that travel around and "preach" at different campuses.  These preachers have a large sign that says "God hates...." and then a list.  The "preaching" consist of pointing at students at they walk by and say they are going to hell because and then make up a reason.  This type of "preaching" causes a lot of students to be upset and tends to lump all Christians in the "do not talk to" category.   The interesting part of this group is that they never tell people how to be right with Jesus.

As we were praying about a good way to share with people God's love and develop relationships, something was laid on our hearts.  How can we share God's love?  How can we undo the damage that has been done?  And this is what we came up with:

We stood out on a damp day with signs proclaiming God's love.  We didn't shout at people or belittle them, but were there to make friends and let them know that there is a way to be right with Jesus.  It was fun to have people thank us and encourage us and even visit with us.  Pray with us as we continue this portion of our ministry.

God has called us to make disciples, not just to witness.  Sometimes making disciples means showing love, even to those who are unlovely (they need it the most).

Rmans 2:4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
